Conservation Opportunity is a 501(c)(3) & 1101.01 nonprofit organization that has the mission of connecting people with opportunities for professional and personal growth and development within environmental conservation.

Partnering with Conservation Opportunity will provide your group a unique experience to make a meaningful impact by:

Types of activities

  • Natural area cleanup: at coastal or forest areas in need. Survey the trash picked up for scientific purposes.
  • Farm work: Learn hands on about sustainable farming practices that benefit wildlife.
  • Restoration work: planting native trees, invasive species removal.
  • Trail maintenance: work at the rainforest.

Breakdown of activities

Farm Work (Morning)

Learn hands-on about sustainable farming practices that benefit wildlife at two locations:

  • Finca Semila in Barceloneta — includes cacao and chocolate tasting
  • Hacienda AgroBosque in Ciales — includes a tostones making and tasting experience

Trail Maintenance

Join the adventure and help maintain trails at El Yunque National Forest. Includes: materials and water. Please bring: snacks, lunch, and a reusable water bottle.

Habitat Enhancement (Half Day)

Three different activities can be conducted:

  1. Natural Area Cleanup — at coastal or forest areas in need. Survey the trash picked up for scientific purposes.
  2. Planting Native Trees
  3. Invasive Species Removal

Location varies.

Lunch

Lunch can be added as part of any experience. Prices may vary per location.

Program T-Shirt

A unique t-shirt featuring a map of Puerto Rico and illustrations of its natural resources. This t-shirt will be a special souvenir to take home, serving as a memorable keepsake of your meaningful experience and your contribution to conserving Puerto Rico’s natural beauty.
