Description:

“The Landscape Ecology Lab at the University of Texas at El Paso is seeking a PhD student to join the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology PhD Program in Fall 2026. The selected student will research biodiversity and landscape ecology in the Chihuahuan Desert, using drones, remote sensing, or GIS to study ecosystems, habitats, and species diversity across the desert and southwestern U.S.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Biology, Natural Resources, or a related field (by Fall 2026)
- At least one year of relevant research experience
- Preferred: experience with remote sensing or GIS, data analysis in R/Python, driver's license, and/or FAA Part 107 drone pilot license
