Avance Expo is a series of professional improvement workshops that will be accompanied by career panels. Workshop topics have included the following: Resume, Cover Letter, Interview Techniques, Create Your LinkedIn Page, Federal Resume, Navigating USAJobs and more! Each month is accompanied by office hours where you can discuss with someone from the Conservation Opportunity team about the Expo topics and get reviews of your applications (i.e. job, internship, ...).

- Description: During the Resume workshop we talked about how to create an effective resume and Para la Naturaleza talked about how they handle job applications, details they look for in a good application, a good candidate, common mistakes, etc. In addition, as part of the Career Panel, the Superintendent spoke about his background in environmental conservation and how he managed to get his job by holding one of the highest positions in his field with Para la Naturaleza.

- Description: During the Create Your Cover Letter workshop we will talk about how to create an effective cover letter and have Environment for the Americas speak about how they handle job applications, details they look for in a good application, a good candidate, common mistakes, etc. In addition, as part of the Career Panel, they will talk about their background in environmental conservation and how you can get your job in an environmental conservation position.

- Description: During the workshop we will be briefly recommending some techniques for conducting an effective interview. Then we will have Hispanic Access Foundation who will talk about how they handle job applications in their internship programs, details they look for in a good application, a good candidate, common mistakes, etc. In addition, as part of the Career Panel, a student from their program focused on natural resource conservation “MANO Project” will talk about his background in environmental conservation and how you can get his job in a conservation position.

- Description: During the workshop “Create your LinkedIn Page” we will be taking you step by step to create your professional LinkedIn page. In addition, we will talk about the importance of it to get a job, networking and more.
- Conservation Careers Symposium (Federal) - tuesday, 8/march/2022 from 11:00am to 1:00pm
- Special guest: US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS)

- Description: During the workshop you will be given an orientation to FWS and its programs, types of careers and internship opportunities with FWS, requirements for federal careers in natural resource conservation and related fields, preparing and applying for federal jobs and internships (e.g. Federal Resume), and the opportunity to ask questions and network with FWS professionals. In addition, as part of the Career Panel, several employees (including Puerto Ricans) will talk about their backgrounds in environmental conservation and how you can get a similar job with the federal agency.
