Position: NASA MUREP DEAP MS Assistantship - Integrated Environmental Science

Salary: $30,000/year for up to 1.5 years (3 semesters + 1 summer NASA internship); includes full tuition for three semesters, research funds, travel, and a one-time $10,000 summer internship stipend

Description: “Fully funded M.S. assistantship conducting NASA-related thesis research, training, and networking through the NASA MUREP DEAP Institute of Advanced Remote Sensing for Environmental Intelligence. Research will focus on environmental/coastal data science using monitoring data, bathymetry, satellite imagery, GIS, and machine learning to assess habitat use, feeding/migration patterns, and environmental impacts on regionally important species (fish, sea turtles, etc.) in the Indian River Lagoon and northern Florida Atlantic coastal regions. Required Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship; B.S. in a NASA-related discipline (e.g., biology, computer science, environmental science)
- Strong interest in environmental data science, coding, remote sensing, GIS, and machine learning
- Demonstrated research ability
- Proficiency in R and GIS
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- GPA ≥3.0
