Description: This organization focuses on the restoration, conservation and ecological management of the coastal ecosystem. Its projects are directed by Dr. Robert Mayer at UPR Aguadilla.

Description: The Caribbean Fishery Management Council (CFMC) focuses on the conservation, restoration and management of fishery resources in Puerto Rico and the United States. The CFMC includes the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Caribbean Fishery Management Council is responsible for the creation of fishery resource management plans (FMPs), which are then submitted to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce for approval and implementation in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Once implemented, local governments can adopt compatible legislation for the conservation of fishery resources within local waters.
Location: The CFMC is located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is the only council that does not include one of the fifty states of the Union and shares fish stocks with many Caribbean nations.

DescriptionRescate Playas Borinquen is a non-profit organization with a mission to restore Ramey's recreational areas and protect nature.
